Unable to install SQL server 2008 reporting services add-in for MOSS 2007

Asked By: Vikat Shashtri         Date: Nov 06, 2008      Category: MOSS      Views: 247

The installation wizard says it was interrupted and stops running. When I try to install it from the command line, it runs but I am unable to locate the RSCustomAction.exe file on the machine to proceed with the set-up. However after the command line installation step 1( rsSharePoint.msi SKIPCA=1) I am able to see the reporting services section in Central Admin. But when I click on any of the links below it, it throws me a sharepoint error; something about not able to find central admin key.

In the even viewer log, it says I do not have permissions to the database where as I am using a Domain account.

Were you installing the wrong version of the add-in  by chance? There are two versions, one for x64 (rsSharePoint_x64.msi) and one for 32bit (rsSharePoint.msi). Verify that you downloaded and installed the correct version based on the OS that you are running.
