I've been noticing that the "Edit with Microsoft Office SharePoint"
option under the file menu, as well as the button for this feature on
the toolbar in Internet Explorer, sometimes disappears when some
SharePoint pages load. The link under the File menu will gray out and
the button will also gray out. I notice this particularly on some
computers with Windows 2000 and running Internet Exlorer 6 SP1. On
other machines though, like ones with Windows XP and even some other
Windows 2000 systems, seem to display the link and button.

Strangely enough, on machines where this is a problem, if I start
FrontPage and open the site by manually entering the URL, I can edit
it that way.

I have already updated the Internet Explorer on the faulty machine,
still no improvement.

Does anyone know why this is?
