Unable to edit a column I chose to make hidden

Asked By: Jasen    Date: Oct 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1930

I have a document library with 2 content types. For each content type I have
edited a few columns and set their status to be "Hidden". When I first made the
change the columns showed in the column list as hidden and did not appear on any
forma but did show in some views(as I intended). Now, a day later, those
columns do not show up in the list and are not present in any of my views.

Does anyone know if these columns can be made visible again?

The columsn should be visible  in views, even though they are hidden  from forms.
When you edit  a view, are you not able to simply add those columns  back to the
view?

But no I cannot see the hidden  columns when I edit
my views. What's more troubling is that I can't see the columns  when I'm
editing the content  types. So I cannot make  the columns available again in the
upload or edit  forms. SharePoint still recognizes those columns as being
associated with those content types  because when I click on Add from existing
site columns the columns I'm looking for are not in the list. They are still in
the master list  of site columns.
