Unable to connect. BDC appliction

Am just started working on BDC. when i select the webpart Business Data
List am getting an error like
"Unable to connect to AdventureWorksDWInstance".

Could you please give us more info? There are so many things involved in setting
up a BDC connection.

I suspect you are using the sample AdventureWorksDWInstance Application
Definition. That is set for pass through authentication, but needs to be
changed to point at your SQL server. Did you edit the XML file to add your SQL
server name? Does the user you are logged in with have rights to the
AdventureWorksDW database?
