How do u count the number of documents being uploaded on a daily

Asked By: Martina    Date: Dec 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1276

We have successfully deployed Sharepoint in our environment and we have a
continuous updation which happens across locations on a single SPS server,
currently we have close to a million documents on the server and the same is
being updated on a daily basis, I just wanted to figure out a way by which I
could / will now as to which location updates which folder. it is a simple
directory structure that is, a location would update only the folders meant for
that location, there are multiple verticals in it but the parent directory is
different per location.
What I do today is a manual job, I make a junior guy open the web folder and
click on the property and then that way he has to do it.. but am sure that there
is a simpler way out.

Are you asking for a script that will tell you how many documents  are in
each folder?

Currently we are using the ADO basis, we query the SPS portal at
night and store the results in a SQL DB.
This way we are able to get the results on daily  basis, but wanted  to
check out if this is the right method, typically it takes about 10/12
minutes for the query to get executed so taking in to tconsideration
the number  of directories, this seems to be the best bet, your
suggestions/ comments would be highly appreciated
