Tracking staff certifications and skill sets in My Profile - Public

Does anyone have an idea for how to track staff skill sets and
certifications, and have it also appear in their My Profile - Public
Area? Other than creating a huge text box for them to enter this into,
I really cannot think of another method.

I preference this with I am not a developer, nor do I have one to at
this time to assist.
