Tracking the SharePoint Contents usage

  Asked By: Carmen    Date: Apr 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1090

We need a mechanism to report what locations a given piece of MOSS reusable content is used

I guess Sharepoint OOB features doesnt not support tracking reusable sharepoint contents....

Please advice me the approach to be taken

Try if you get some info out of the SPListItem.BackwardLink property of a reusable  content list will return a
collection of SPLink that is using the content  from REUSABLE CONTENT.

SPSite site = new SPSite(Url);
SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb();
SPList reusableContents = web.Lists["Reusable Content"];
SPListItem content =
reusableContents.Items[Convert.ToInt32(rcIdx)];
foreach (SPLink link in content.BackwardLinks)
{
Console.WriteLine(link.Url);
}
