Tracking CALS

Asked By: Jena    Date: Feb 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2130

I am using the Performance Monitor to review Maximum CAL count for
Authenticated users. The problem is..... It always shows zero, although I
do see Current connections and Current Non-Anonymous Users go up and down as
people hit the site and leave. I don't want to give Microsoft all my money
but I would like to ensure I am tracking the people that hit my site so I
can buy the correct number of CALs.

Any thoughts?

How are you using performance  monitor to watch your hits? I would
like to do this for the same reason.

Yes, that is what I am using it for.

To do the same,
Launch PerMon and click on "View Report"
Click on the "+" and choose Web Service as the performance  Object.
Then choose the counter you would like to see.

On a side note, change the update to 30 seconds and try to run this from a
different server to improve performance on the SPS server.
