Time out issue

Asked By: Aiesha    Date: Feb 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 909

The `search timeout' issue happens on the Sharepoint with sites
having 5+ doc libraries. Do we need to re-index SQL? The "trouble
making" site is a part of WSS 2.0

Are you getting the search timeout  when indexing? Or querying?

If you are getting it querying on the wss  site, (For V2) SharePoint
definitely queries back to the database server to get the search results.

The problem could be that your database server is not responding as fast as

I would also check your App Logs and see if you are getting multiple "Cannot
connect to database" error messages as described here:

If so, see blogs.msdn.com/.../450020.aspx

I have re-indexed and re-built SQL. Search is working fine now and I'm not
getting more of "time outs".
