Time to implement complex workflows?

can anyone give some rough estimates on how much time design and
coding of complex workflows in SharePoint might take?

With complex I'm talking 30 process steps and more. If you have done
a complex workflow, how much time did it take - are we talking 40h or
more?

This really depends on what you want each step to perform, the complexity of
each step, and how good of a programmer you are (or the person creating the
workflow).
