Time between reboots

Asked By: Nirmal Chandratre         Date: Jan 19, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 206

Is there anyone out there who has:

- more than 10,000 docs
- more than 50 authors
- more than 5 content sources
- daily backups
- daily adaptive updates as global settings
- incremental updates on some content sources

and DOESN'T have to do periodic reboots of their SPPS?

I'm still getting flaky behavior on my server after some undetermined period
of time. Sometimes it's 3-4 weeks, sometimes it's 1 week and I can't figure
out what triggers it. So I'm wondering if anyone else out there doesn't
have to reboot periodically to keep things running.

I'm wondering if a Sunday reboot every week wouldn't just keep things
running more smoothly.

I have all of the criteria except the top one and the bottom one. I also
experience flaky behavior in the past. To resolve this I wrote a batch file
the restarts the IISAdmin service every morning at 4 a.m. and I schedule
reboots for the first Saturday of each month. Since then, no problems.

I'd appreciate a copy of the batch file please.
