Thread pool pressure error

Asked By: Staci    Date: Dec 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1161

SQL Server 2005, rep services, SSAS, sharepoint WSS3

A report, which runs from visual studio, doesn't work on the sharepoint portal which runs in sharepoint integrated mode.

It looks like, when things get a little bit stressy, reports start to stop.

When looking in the reporting services log, administered by sharepoint central administration, i receive a thread pool pressure warning

w3wp!runningjobs!1!9/15/2009-14:58:51:: w WARN: Thread pool pressure. Using current thread for a work item.

But i don't receive a notice the report is being ended

Within the report server log table (at the database) the status is : IsSuccess which effectively means the report has been succesfully run by the report server

The exact cause was totally different.

In sharepoint integrated mode, the default time-out can not be altered in the GUI, and is 120 seconds.
In order to change the time-out you need to alter the web.config.

Look over here : portal.sqltrainer.com/.../...server-reporting.html
When you paste the value/statement, don't forget to replace the quotes with real quotes (symbol set of article doesn't comply)
