Third party software integration with sharepoint portal server 2003

I am student working on acadamia project and need any body help who
know how to integrate third party software for example Celcat (A
software which is used for the managing the resources like teacher,
classes etc) with share poratal server 2003. If any body can provide
a working example then it would be very benaficial and helping for
me.
