Themes image

  Asked By: Carmen    Date: Feb 24    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 679

I have what I hope is a very simple question. I have installed
additional themes on my test SharePoint server and they work fine, but I
cannot determine how to get the preview image of the theme. I am sure it
is just a placement of a file and update of an .ini file, but where and
which one?

You need to add the following to the SPTHEMES.XML

<Templates>
<TemplateID>TemplateID</TemplateID>
<DisplayName>TemplateName</DisplayName>
<Description>Type a description for your new theme.</Description>
<Thumbnail>images/thumbnailimage.gif</Thumbnail>
<Preview>images/ thumbnailimage.gif</Preview>
</Templates>

You will then need to need to add the image  to the following location:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\12\TEMPLATE\IMAGES

You must ensure that the image is: 375 x 231 pixels
As always perform an IISRESET
