How can more than 2 levels of Grouping be implemented in a list

The SharePoint UI for customizing a View on a list or document library
only supports 2 levels of Grouping.

Questions

1. How can more than 2 levels of Grouping be implemened in a list or
library View? Can this be done programmically, for example?


2. Can the Data View or Content Query web part (or some other
SharePoint Designer functionality help out here)?

I'm kind of disparate for an answer to this one.
