Tasks List vs Project Tasks List

Asked By: Joseph    Date: May 27    Category: MOSS    Views: 4116

I'm using MOSS 2007. I would like to know when I shld use task or Project task List? Is that posible to view the content from these 2 lists in a single view?

Actually I would like to create something like weekly 'To Do List'. I found it can be done using Tasks List. At the same time, few 'Project Task' Lists created for different projects. Is seem double effort in filling up weekly 'To Do List' and Project Task' List. Is that posible to link this together? or any suggestion?

You could rollup these tasks  using the Content Query WebPart into a single view. Heres some articles which might help:

Displaying data from multiple lists office.microsoft.com/.../HA101741341033.aspx
Using custom properties msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa981241.aspx
Displaying custom fields msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms497457.aspx
Customising the content query using item styles www.heathersolomon.com/.../customitemstyle.aspx
