Tasking application

Asked By: Harshit    Date: Nov 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1417

This is a continue message from earlier: I have to create a tasking
application. I have created a task list with several columns when a new
task is added a tasker selects a taskee. In SPD i send an email to the
taskee that was selected by the tasker. My question is how/where would
i redirect the taskee to. I was thinking right back to the task list,
but when the edit the task i need to only have a limit amount of fields
for them to use from the existing fields. WE can not use thrid party
features here.

This may be a job for Content Types!
In the advanced settings for the list, you can allow the management of
content types. Having this enabled will allow you to hide certain
fields from the users.

So, after you enable the use of content types, the only content type in
your list  will be "Task". Click on "Task" there (in the content types
section of the tasks settings page), and then you'll see a list of
fields. There you can click on any field, and change it to "hidden".

This will hide it from the newform, editform and dispform pages. This
will not hide it from views, though, so you'll still be able to add as
a column unless you ocmpletely delete it.
