Synchronization with Outlook after deploying Forms Based Authentication

Asked By: Tapasvi    Date: Sep 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1490

Is it possible to sync SharePoint WAS v.3 lists (like tasks or calendar)
with Outlook 2003 after you have enabled Forms Based Authentication for
a site?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If FBA is the only authentication  method for that site then I believe the
answer is NO. Synchronize with Outlook you would need to have Client
Integration turned on. Since you don't have a Windows Identity on the
server as a FBA user you can't have SharePoint start the Application on the
client for you. That will keep you from doing Synchronization.

Synchronization doesn't work very well to Outlook 2003 anyway. For full
functionality (two-way synchronization) you need to have Outlook 2007, no
matter what authentication mechanism.
