To have a confirmation that the script works you should run another script. I
launched the following function in a Web part:

Remember that if the value of DisableSubscriptionNotifications property  is
FALSE, subscription  notifications are enabled. If it is TRUE: they are disabled.

However, I solved the problem: the SMTP server address wasn't correct. It was
not a script problem.

I created backup of sharepoint portal  server using MSDMBack script.
The syntax I used is:
MSDMBack /b d:/SPBack062002

I copied backup file to different sharepoint  server. When I tried to
restore getting different error messages. I used syntax:
MSDMBack /r d:/SPBack062002

Can anyone tried to take backup on one server and restore on another
server. Please give me how to do that.

How can you check to see if the script works? How do you check for the
property? I have never been able to get the script working.

The scripts  still don't work  for me. I replaced the servername  with the
correct server name and launched the stop notifications  scripts using
cscript form the command prompt...it looks like it ran but it does not stop
any notifications. I am still getting them.

In addition when I put the status code into a web part I get a type mismatch
error.

I believe the resource kit says not to store a backup in the root directory
of any drive. You need to back up to a subdirectory somewhere.

So do

cscript msdmback.vbs /r d:\sps-back\sysback062002

and perhaps you'll be able to restore more easily.

As you said, I tried , still not working. I tried in all possible ways.

Is it required to have source server and backup server must be identical
in all aspects (ie., browser version, OS version,patches, user a/c, local
admin name,etc )
