STSADM Restore Error

Asked By: Malinda    Date: Jul 31    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 822

A few folks on here have posted questions related to the following error
message, but the responses have not seemed to resolve the issue we are
facing. I was wondering if anyone has additional suggestions for me to

I am attempting an STSADM restore operation on a site collection that
needs to move from a development environment to a production one. The
backup is relatively small - 85 MB. I am encountering the following
error message:

The site collection could not be restored. If this problem persists,
please make sure the content databases are available and have sufficient
free space.

Previous responses have suggested looking at disk space, but that does
not seem to pan out. I have verified the following:

* Front-end web server has two drives with 27 GB and 112 GB
available respectively

* Database server has three drives with 29 GB, 192 GB, and 174
GB available respectively

* The content DB, which is currently empty, is pre-allocated
with 1 GB of free space, and set to grow 100 MB at a time

All of this seems to be way more than enough free space to restore 85 MB
of data. Does anyone have other suggestions for where to look?
