stsadm command doubt

Asked By: Ray    Date: Feb 23    Category: MOSS    Views: 559

Can some help in telling me, from which path the stsadm command needs to be
executed in the command prompt.

I have created a feature. Now to enable it or add it in MOSS, i understand
the stsadm command needs to be fired. I would like to know what is the path
from which i shud dire the command.

stsadm is an exe file, it is located in path  C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN\

And good practice is to add  it to PATH (environment variable), so that it can
be fired from any where.

stsadm.exe -o addsolution -filename

That should do it and as best practice always try....

stsadm.exe -o help  and it will give you a list of all the commands.
