Strange problem w/ doc library in WSS v2

Asked By: Lacy    Date: Nov 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 733

We had a weird thing happen w/ one of our team's document library.
When they upload documents, everything seems normal. When they try
to "edit properties" for a document, the document is removed from the
library. They have to re-upload and then leave it alone. ??!

So far, I've only seen this happen in the one library. Since it
belongs to another team, I have no idea what all they've done on their
site/to that library. Any ideas on what might be causing this bizarre
problem?

Solved my own problem. The library  required content approval, so
when the properties  were editing, the document  "disappeared" while
in a pending status. Upon approval, all was live and well again.

The weird  thing is that, apparently, a site admin is only auto-
approved when upload/adding content to a list/library that requires
approval. When editing properties, at least, they going into a
pending status and need to be manually approved. Stupid? I think so,
but who am I to judge.

Always nice to solve your own problems and go home happy for the
weekend!

No worries. It happens to the best of us. And actually it is by default
that administrators can bypass the approval step. Sneaky, but that's WSS v2
for you.

I wonder if there is a workflow associated with edit/change that is
causing the delete to occur?
