Strange Error

Asked By: Judson    Date: May 11    Category: MOSS    Views: 672

The situation is as follows:

We have a web service that contains .NET code to access a Sharepoint site &
consists of several web methods for uploading files, downloading files, creating
folders, deleting files etc all on Sharepoint.
We also have a Word 2007 document that consists of a macro that references this
web service (using MSSoap 3.0 toolkit) & calls the upload web method when the
shortcut key (Ctrl+S) is pressed.

This scenario works perfectly on one machine (Machine A) but is not working on
any other machine in our network.

The exception error highlights the line in the macro which calls the web method
with the following message : Connector: Unspecified HTTP error.
Another exception error occurs when the MSSoap 3.0 toolkit is not installed on
the machine with the following message [but it is fixed by installing the
MSSoap toolkit]: Can't find project or Library.

Notes:
1.The Word document should be saved on a specific location in
Sharepoint & with a single specific user name (User 1).
2.The web method is being called twice although that there is a
single line of code calling the macro code, the 2nd call is successful in
Machine A while both calls fail from other machines
3.Previously, the same web service & the same macro code were
working on all machines, but since then some changes in the local machines & the
server were made.
4.By viewing the security event log of the server, all calls from
Machine A are done by the correct user (User 1), but all calls from other
machines are done by their local users.

Where could the problem be?
