The Extranet site has its own DC, SQL and Sharepoint webserver which are all Windows 2008. SQL is 2008 as well. There is a one way trust between the Extranet domain and our internal domain. The user requests do not go through an ISA server in the DMZ as they do when accessed from outside.
A) Updating documents seems to be completely broken with Required Checkout turned on while accessing the extranet site from DSL, or outside the domain. This is not the case when accessing extranet from inside the domain.
B) Objects open with Read-Only displayed in the title bar, whether Required Checkout is turned on or not. This is not seen when accessing extranet from inside the domain
C) Problems with updating documents are experienced with Required Checkout turned off. We want it turned on, but here is what is seen when it is turned off.
When opening a document by clicking on the doc name, it opens, shows read only in title bar, but when edited, it can be saved successfully.
D) When opening a document by choosing Edit with Microsoft Office Excel/Word, it opens, shows read-only and cannot be saved. Usually an error message pops up saying that the document is read-only and sometimes it just closes in the manner which suggests it has been saved successfully, but it hasn’t written the changes. I have not been able to save successfully even once while editing documents in this manner through the extranet.
Any ideas?
