STP files

Asked By: Ruchir    Date: Jul 15    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1310

I have (probably a dumb) question about STP files. I downloaded
all of the files from
and created a site in SPS, & added these templates.

How do I modify these? I tried opening them in FP2003 (what I thought
was the MS chosen way to modify them) and cannot get the software to
open these kinds of files.

Those are site  templates - they are used when creating a new site and cannot be
edited directly. What you can do is create a new site using the one which is
closest, then edit the site and save it back out as a new template.

I'll give that a whirl while everyone is out this week.

I've created  some new sites with some of these templates.
How do I edit those pages, and how do I save them as templates? Do I
just do this in FrontPage2003?

I'm an idiot.
I never use the Edit With FrontPage/NotePad button on my browser.
Being not a big fan of FP, I just had never used it.

So the answer to my own question  was, Click on the purple and white
box with the Northwesterly pointing arrow.
