Steps for migrating MOSS 07 with integrated SSRS to SP 2010?

Asked By: Ramsey    Date: Jan 09    Category: MOSS    Views: 874

I haven't seen much specifically addressing the steps required to properly
migrate an integrated MOSS07/SSRS farm to 2010.

Can anyone offer guidance, links, best practices? Does it just *happen* along
with everything else, or are there special considerations for using the database
attach migrate method?

In our 2007 production farm, we have 2 load-balanced WFEs, 1 central
admin/index/Excel svcs WFE, our MOSS backend database server (SQL Server 2005),
and one WFE functioning as our SSRS integration point with SQL Server 2008
Reporting Services installed along with the MOSS 07 bits, and using Trusted
Account access.

Other than the general methodology to perform the attach database migration
method for our content dbs and user profile/ssp dbs, is there anything
particular to do for the SSRS stuff?

Well there are several methods that have been discussed at our SharePoint users

A couple of things you need to know about the upgrade:
1.) The is no native support for a gradual upgrade from 07 to 10
2.) Your 07 farm must be x64. If it isn't you need to upgrade the farm to x64
and then to 2010

I think I'm fairly well-versed in the
general 2007 to 2010 upgrade scenarios and requirements at this point.

I guess I should have been more clear in my initial post: I am asking
*specifically* about upgrade requirements/best practices/gotcha's/etc.
for a SharePoint 2007 farm running SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services in
integrated mode.
