SSRS Integration - Prompted for login

Asked By: Lacy    Date: Oct 27    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 966

I am following the instructions created by the Microsoft SharePoint Team Blog

I have gotten to step 18 which does not work.

Step 18 is where, from the MOSS server I open a web browser and point to the SRS site. This does not work. I am prompted for a login ... but I can never authenticate. I have also tried from my workstation but it does not work either.

However, from the SRS server I open a web browser and point to the same SRS site and it works fine.

In Reporting Services Configuration, everything has a green dot indicating it is configured correctly.

I have checked everything I know to check and have hit a wall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I got it. I had to add SPN's (Service Principal Names) that tie the NetBIOS name of the RS server  to the IIS application pool identity.

Anyone interested will find the solution at the URL below.

I simply downloaded the program from MS. Then at a command prompt I entered the following two commands:

setspn -a HTTP/MOSS-RS doman\appPool_identity
setspn -a HTTP/MOSS-RS.ESI.NET doman\appPool_identity
