SSRS 2005 Integration with MOSS 2007

Asked By: Mohini    Date: Sep 21    Category: MOSS    Views: 906

I have a MOSS WFE server and a separate DB server where the content and Configuration databases are stored.

I am trying to integrate a reporting module (SSRS 2005 reports) that reports data from an external database. My question is - What is the best place to install SSRS ? The MOSS WFE server or the database server ?

MOSS WFE should be a good server, because if you wants SSRS 2005 to be configured in integration  mode you need to have basic SharePoint installed on the box.

Requirements for Running Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated Mode: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb283190(SQL.90).aspx

Here is link for step by step installation of SSRS 2005 in integration mode blogs.msdn.com/.../...epoint-integration-mode.aspx
