SSP Profile imports

I'm trying to configure the Shared Services Provider User Imports and am being presented with an error:

An error has occurred while accessing SQL database or system resources. If this is the first time you have seen this message, please try again later. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator.

No change has been committed to database.

Any ideas what's causing this? I'm using the same service account that I used for the farm creation so application and database access shouldn't be an issue.

I ran into this issue  after upgrading from the Beta 2 to the Beta 2
TR and resolved it by recycling the SSP application  pool and Office
and WSS search services. Alternatively, you could create a second
SSP and try running the profile  imports from there.
