SSP not working !!!

Asked By: Leslie    Date: Jul 07    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1299

I am having a tough time resolving this. 'My Sites' is not working.

Reason :

1. The Application Pool has been deleted by some one accidentally. Hence the
SSP admin page does not load, I get to see Page cannot be displayed.

2. I have created a new SSP with a new web application for MySites. Now I am
not able to bring this newly created 'My Sites' when i click on 'My Sites' link,
it still load the URL from the old SSP.

Have you associated the current web application (i.e.
Intranet) with the new SSP not the old one. You can click on the menu for
associations and re-associate it that way. The "My Site" link for the
intranet site should then change to the new one.

When you recreated your SSP did you assign your application to that

You can associate the site with the new SSP, by accessing the SSP
administration. Use the following URL http://{you server

You should then see the two SSP's you have created. Click the "Change
Associations" button.

From the dropdown list select the ssp  you want to use, and then either select
the "Select All" check box or simply select the web applications you wish to
associate with the new SSP.

Press OK and then you will probably get a message saying it will be done, accept
it and wait. This should sort it for you.
