SSP continued: ssp/admin/_vti_bin vs /_vti_bin

So is my problem that I've tried to use the web services at
/_vti_bin/search.asmx instead of ssp/admin/_vti_bin/search.asmx?

I got "ssp/admin/..." to work, while the other won't. What is the
difference?

What are the implications to Search scopes if I use another Search
Center site collection in a separate application search.byui.edu?

Can I define separate search scopes on separate URL's

There is no better means of promoting another person's change of heart

than allowing our own heart to be changed.
