SSP admin host site hosted in same web app as main portal web app--h

We have created a brand new ssp and moved all the web apps over to use the new
ssp..

problem

the problem is the old ssp admin site is hosted in the same web app as the main
portal that we want to use the new ssp..

How can we get rid of the old ssp without deleting the web app that hosts both
sites?
