SSL Problem

Asked By: Bhairavi    Date: Mar 31    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 681

I have run the extranet util and am able to access my site via
HTTPS..the problem is, the https works on the main portal page but if
I click on any of the other links (search etc) or the categories in
the category webpart, they connection reverts to http://

Is this normal? It seems like the links are being created as absolute
links to the content (using some kinda of server side variable?) and
ignoring the fact that the session is secure...

Haven't used the utility and we don't have SSL implemented yet but we did follow
the instructions in the MS White paper to set up External access  and the links
worked with FQDN for the external site. Take a look at the white paper and you
may find find something to help. The doc can be downloaded here:
www.microsoft.com/.../default.asp#Deploymen\
t

Check to make sure that SSL is required at the root of the External web site  and
there is no port 80 access.

I used to use the Whitepaper but I was recommended by Microsoft not to
use that anymore. Take a look at the link below, it walks you through
how to setup the portal  via extranet  with SSL. It worked like a charm.
