SSL Access

Asked By: Jagdish    Date: Oct 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 779

I had a query from a prospective client that "Could share point
be configured for SSL based access" meaning they would like to have a
https:// rather then http://

I know it could be done. will some1 be kind enough to point me
to some good articles , url's etc on how this could be done. and are there
any precautions I should take or are there any known problems or issues with

We would be deploying Share Point Portal Server 2003, SP1

Yes. Microsoft has a white paper on this.

Along the same line (previous question), I am having
trouble implementing SSL.

I have made adequate/correct changes to the portal
server to accomodate SSL...it works fine, with the
exception of any home-grown webparts. They do not
appear in the gallery nor can I import them on a
Secure page.

Any thoughts?
