SPTS: Permissions for subweb disappered

I use Sharepoint Teamservices and created a lot
of webs/subwebs for customers. Every Web is working fine, but one:
Suddenly users and permissions for a special web are not shown and it
is impossible to add a user. If i try this i get the "add-user-side",
but no coice for the permissions (author, admin...) is presented.
Subwebs beneath are als working fine. NTFS was not modified and seems
to be ok. Waht can i do without deleting and recrating the whole
subweb?? (Recalculating the web didnt work). Any Ideas??

Are all the users present in same domain or in a different domain?
If in a different domain,if trust relationship breaks users disappears
for access control list on Portal as well as Team Site.
