How to use SPSBackup to restore the backup to another box?

I have a SPSBackup issue and am just wondering if you have experienced
before. The SPSBackup couldn't restore the backup to a new server with
the same installs (SPS+SP2+SQL2005). The SPSBackup error message
is "The operation failed" and the EventLog error message is "SQL Server
Restore Failed" (Event ID: 0).

I looked up this KB article 240872: "How to resolve permission issues
when you move a database between servers that are running SQL Server"
and checked the sysusers table, the SID for the SPS/SQL services
account (ResortQuestHawaii\SharePT which is a local admin account) is
the same on both servers. So I don't know if what's talked about in the
KB would cause the failure of restoring the databases. What do you
think?

There is one thing that I have noticed with SPS backup
and restore. If there is any difference between the
states of the two machines i.e any difference between
in the service packs and patches applied, it wont
work.
Try this out. It might work.
