Is there a way to set quotas on "My Sites" and workspaces in SPS 2?

Go into the SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration page. Under
Portal site  and Virtual Server Configuration, select configure site
quotas and locks from the Virtual Server List page. Select quota
templates. And on this page, you can set quotas  for Personal Site and
User. Select Personal Site in the drop down list and set  your limit
values at the bottom. I don't think there is a way to set quotas for
workspaces (keep in mind that the limits you set will apply to all
users). There is a way to set quotas for sites  also. I hope this helps.

Could you be a bit more clear? I found how to set  it on the site  level
but this is to restrictive. We need to just limit peoples MY Sites but
not the Areas and sub areas. We would also like to have different quotas
for different groups of users for their My Sites.
