SPS V2: Uploading Multiple Files

Asked By: Noah    Date: Jan 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1107

For some unknown reason, I have one portal that does not have this
feature. But in addition to that, it only happens at certain computers.
I logged in as the same user at two different locations. At 1 location,
I don't see the link but at another location I do see the link.

This user has the contributor role. I also tried logging in as a reader
and an administrator at two locations and I get the same results.

Has anybody encountered this problem?

You need Office 2003 to be able to upload multiple  files

Multiple upload depends on an ActiveX control called STSUpld.UploadCtl
which I believe may be installed with Office 2003 - this might explain
why you see different results  at different locations?

Another reason  might be the browser settings stopping ActiveX controls?

So this has nothing to do with any portal  or internet explorer settings?
So I guess there is some kinda component that Office 2003 installs that
enable this feature?
