SPS V2: Search Results

Asked By: Nishita    Date: Jan 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 720

This might be a stupid question, but when you do a search and you get the search
results back, what is the purpose of the search results page if there is no drop
down menu associated with each document or any link that will allow me to check
the document out? Or do I have to manually navigate to that location, find the
document again and then use the drop down menu? The only links I see on the
search results page is to open or save the document and that's it. Am I missing
something? I know in SPS 2001, when you do a search and get results back, it
actually gives you a link to the details page for that document so that you
could check it out.

Can somebody shed some light on this matter.

You will need to modify the search  results web page  to display a link  to
the location  of the document  or to enable the drop  down menu

Once again, there are no easy solutions and this will require some
advanced modification. Maybe someone has done it before and could share
with us.
