SPS V2: Change Password

  Asked By: Jena    Date: Jan 22    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1142

When a user changes their network password, the next time they log into SPS,
they are prompted for their credentials. The user will keep getting prompted
unless they check the "Remember my password" checkbox. I thought since SPS is
set as Integrated Authentication, it should not matter whether a user changes
their password or not, it should still allow the user to enter. Is SPS storing
or caching the user's password anywhere?

Integrated authentication  will prompt for credentials  unless the site is in the
Local Zone or you change  the authentication settings in IE. You may also get an
authentication prompt if the user  is logged into the account they change the
password for, and haven't logged out and logged back in under the new password.

Thanks for the response. I have one more question. Once the user  logs on with
the new password, they should not  be prompted  again right? The problem I'm
seeing is that the user still gets prompted unless they check  the "Remember my
password" checkbox.

could you please check  this settings in ie
goto Tools=>Internet Options=>Security=>Local
Intranet=>Custom Level=>scroll down to the end {User
Authetication} and then click on Automatic Logon with
Current username and password.

that's it and i wish that solve the problem.
