SPS V1.0 - Adobe Reader viewing PDF - folder names containing

Has anyone seen a problem with viewing PDF files via Internet Explorer from
Sharepoint V1.0 using Adobe Reader V5 or V6 in folders that contain (at some
level) an apostrophe in the folder name?

This problem seems to have only recently appeared - security patches having
been applied to customer IE. IE 6.0 - NT 4.0, W2K and Windows XP all exhibit
same problem.

Solved by a simple rename of the folder name containing the apostrophe.

Sounds like you only have READER role but are trying to open it in
read-write mode. Is this the case?

I've seen that the document library web part (or was it quick links?)
doesn't escape apostrophe's correctly. Because of this, the resulting
HTML that is fed to the user's browser has a bare apostrophe, and it
does something to javascript or something such that the page draws in IE
with an error.

I don't think it's specific to PDF.

This problem  has been introduced by the SP1 of Internet Explorer. We have it
too. It only happens if we try to open the documents from the «Document
Library». If it is openned from the «Categories» it opens fine. The
apostrophe is not handled correctly by the documents web part.

I need to fix this too but since it has been introduced by an MS patch, I
wonder if they could provide us a patch for this problem.

Did you mean SP1 of IE, or SP1 for Sharepoint Portal Server 2001?

Has anyone informed Microsoft - it does seem to have happened only since
installation of IE 6.0 SP1.

Worked okay on my system with IE 5.5 and SPS 1.0 SP1 but note what Wayne
said.
