Use of SPS Search in WSS Site

Asked By: Rocco    Date: Mar 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 700

I have created an Intranet site using WSS. Now we are
upgrading SPS. I have installed SharePoint Portal
Server 2003 in the Server. I wanted to use the
existing site to create Portal site, i.e create portal
with content database from old site. I could not do
it. So I have created a new Portal site.
Now I want to search the old WSS site from the Portal
Site.
I have added the old site to Site Directory. But
search does work on this site content.
Please tell me how I should use the Portal search for
a WSS site.

Why not add it as a content source this would be done navigating to:

PortalServer> site  Settings > Configure Search and Indexing > Manage content sources > Add Content Source

Choose Web page or Web site
