SPS Issue with security permissions

Asked By: Trenton    Date: Jan 13    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 828

I have manually overwrite certain web folders with my custom security
permissions. When a user with no access to the web folder clicks the
link in its browser it takes him/her to the folder but he/she is not
able to view the content of the web folder even if documents exist
there. Now the problem is that if this user with no access clicks on
the link that is direct linked to the file itself it opens up the
file for this user. I am running an NT4 DC and my SPS machine is
part of this domain. So users are authenticated from my NT4 DC. Now
i have tried to manually overwrite NTFS security permissions by
mounting the web storage system on drive M: and found out a new
problem. I have this certain web folder and it is empty and i have 2
groups one with deny permissions and the other with allow
permissions. The deny group has no access at all to the web folder.
If i upload a new file from my portal to this web folder the selected
file does not inherit the permissions of the web folder even if i
have set that up. Any ideas with this?
