SPS installation problem

I'm getting this strange problem. I recenlty installed Windows server
2003 SP1 and now if i open sharepoint portal using the domain name
http://acer all the setting of the page are modied and i can't edit
the page to add a new web part. If I use http://localhost, then the
page is loaded correctly. Can any one suggest me something to fix
this problem.
