SPS doesn't have a feature like this, so has anyone tried to implement a 'preview' feature in S

I'm working on a SPS project where items (news/html content) will be
published to Sharepoint from a 3rd party CMS. As part of this process, they
would like to be able to preview how the items will look in SPS before they
are published from the CMS. SPS doesn't have a feature like this, so has
anyone tried to implement a 'preview' feature in SPS before? Any ideas of
ways to do this (or just to give an impression of a preview)?

Back up and restore the serv and site database to another virtual web site
and you can work on all previews there.
