SPS Deployment using ISA Server

Asked By: Christina    Date: Jan 06    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 734

We have to deploy our site in the extranet. I am using ISA server as
a proxy for the SPS server. I have configured the proxy settings as
mentioned in the MS white paper.
Our n/w structure is as follows.

We have a PIX firewall which to which takes all the hits from the
internet. It then forwards these hits to a L2 switch which then
forwards the request to appropriate server in a domain.
We have mapped the external NIC of ISA to the IP switch and internal
NIC of ISA to the IP of the SPS server.

Is this setting correct ?
After all this i am still getting the "Dashboard Error"
Is this because the authentication information is not able to reach
the SPS server ? ( I have "checked" the "Send the Header .." in ISA

Another question - Is FQDN required for testing the site or does the
entry in "hosts" file enough ? ( We have not yet made an entry in the
DNS server and accesing the site using NETBIOS name. Also we are
using WINS resolution).

Any thoughts and solutions would be really helpful.
Looking forward for the same
