SPS Data in Word Documents

Asked By: Pauline    Date: Jan 27    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 821

if it's possible to display the SharePoint Version value in Word documents. Google SPS Group that "This has been discussed a number of times before and the
conclusion was that there is no easy way to do so..." Unfortunately, the Google discussion archive is apparently lost.

Though it may be beating a dead horse, I'd like to ask again if
anyone has any thoughts about this subject. Even if there is "no easy
way," it would save a tremendous amount of data-reentry if the SPS
values for Version (and Approvers) could be displayed on the title
page of each Word document as dynamic fields.

The Word
document can pass fields  across to Sharepoint eg Author so I would have
thought that its possible to pass information back such as version  number.

I would be interested to see if you get a response to your question.
