Is SPS compatible with STS ?

Can I install Sharepoint Portal Server and Sharepoint Team services
on the same server without problems ?
I see some people are testing the SPS version 2 : is there a good
cooporation of the 2 products ? Is there a new version of Sharepoint
Team Services coming up ?

why it is required u to install the both.
when SPS is more powerfull than STS. U won't find any STS latest versions.

In version 1.0, you cannot install both on the same server. In version
2.0, they're both incorporated into one. When you install SPS, it also
installs STS (which is now called Windows SharePoint Services). When you
get a chance, install and play with version 2.0, it's very nice.

Forgot to mention one more thing, you also have the option to install
one or the other.
