SPS 2003 Web Part Display

Asked By: Sarojini    Date: Dec 20    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1089

I have encountered an unusual problem and was wondering if anyone else has
come across this. We have an SPS 2003 medium server farm.

I have a user who is not able to see a links web part on a web site home page.
All other users who I have contacted or met with are able to see this web part.
I had this user log into my PC to see if it might be an IE profile issue but she
still does not display this web part when looking at this site home page.

I checked the permissions on the links web part and the default settings are
there and nothing else.

Has anyone had experience with this problem or have any suggestions on how to
resolve it?

I might look at her active directory profile and match it up against
someone else who can see it. I'd do the same with her sharepoint user

If she was added as a user after other people her permissions might not
be exactly the same or something. Sometimes when I copy a new user in
active directory, it can do some weird things like that, skip their
mailbox and other odd stuff, even if I use a power user template. After
that I dunno, it could just be a Polter-part. ;)

Anyway, sometimes it's just easier to recreate the user, but in a case
like that you have to recreate them on their XP machines too so they get
all new acl's for exchange stuff and logins and on and on... Kind of a
pain, but often times simpler than trying to hunt down the original
