SPS 2003 issue

We still have an old SPS v2.0 server hosting a handful of wss sites.
It is a small farm, one WFE (web, index, search, job) server (Web1) and one sql
The server started acting up a week ago mainly due to old age we did make a
clone with HyperV in our HyperV environment.
When the physical server ("Web1") started crashing several times in a day we
"moved" to the virtual server ("HVWeb1) and, to my surprise, everything worked
However, 3 days after the "move" I have noticed 2 problems:

1) The event viewer in HVWeb2 is full of thousands a warnings:
Server name "HVWeb1" updated in configuration database. (Web1)
EventID : 201

Going to the Central Administration shows that Web1 is still set as the WEB,
Index, search and job server.
How can I update the server configuration to HVWeb1 instead of Web1?
I researched and STSADM does not have a command for renaming servers in SPS, at
least, not in the documentation I have available.

2) A nasty problem was carried on the virtualization, the virtual server (as its
physical counterpart), IIS stops working and iisrestart is able to stop but not
to restart the IIS services.
Have anybody seen this problem?
